About Just Mousey

Just Mousey was created by Julia C. McClenning, an author and designer from rural Missouri.

Throughout her life, Julia has always found ways to express her imagination through art and design. As life evolved and new opportunities arose, she continued to develop that imagination in new and inspiring ways.

As a single mother for most of her children’s lives, Julia learned the power of imagination and perseverance. Now married, with three grown children and one very special granddaughter who lovingly calls her Yaya, she finds inspiration in the simple joys of family, her dogs, and loved ones. Everything she creates is done with her granddaughter in mind, ensuring that her books and coloring adventures bring joy, imagination, and meaningful experiences to young readers.

Her granddaughter’s excitement for coloring and story time sparked the idea for Just Mousey, a collection of picture books and coloring books that encourage families to explore, create, and dream together.

Julia is the author of Penny the Mini Weenie Plays at the Park, Little Layla the Figure Skater, and Little Louise Visits Dauphin Island, along with a growing collection of story coloring books where children can personalize the story by adding their own names to the pages. She also creates a fun line of bold, simple design coloring books for all ages, perfect for anyone who enjoys relaxing and coloring.

Though Just Mousey is considered a hobby, Julia pours her heart into it during the winter months, especially in quiet evenings when new books and coloring adventures come to life. That is when readers can expect to see the next Just Mousey creations appear.
